Your benefit with the compound line from MAS


The unique conical co-rotating design of the MAS extruder with it’s the larger feeding opening results in a huge intake volume. The conical design of the twin screw extruder enables to processing of a wider range of materials, not only regrinds and pellets but also materials with low bulk densities of down to 30 kg/m³. In addition, additives and fillers such as CaCO3 or Talcum can be fed directly into the feeding opening without the need for a side feeder. This advantage translates to lower investment costs of approx. 50,000 Euro, a smaller food print, less complication design, and less energy consumption during operations.


Inline-compounding allows the direct extrusion and compounding into a final product. This removes the need for an additional melting process of the compound. For example inline pipe production of a PP compound with a throughput of 750 kg/h at annual operation hours of 8000 hours. Without the need of a second melting process as commonly done after the compounding process, you have the potential to save up to 120,000 Euro per annum (energy costs 0,10 kWh/kg).


The MAS extrusion lines do not only offer you maximum efficiency in your production but also ensure the least possible downtime during maintenance. The conical co-rotating twin screws can get be removed from the extruder with just a few screw revolutions, depending on the machine size, in 15 – 30 minutes, whereas for parallel twin screw extruders you can easily spend 3,5 hours for the same procedure. Maintenance and cleaning of the MAS extruder is very simple and the Meantime-to-Repair is with MAS reduced to a minimum. The complicated and time-consuming removal of downstream equipment is not required with the MAS extrusion line.
